MB ChB (1993 Leicester)
I have been at Manor Park since April 1999. I am proud to be a family doctor and a Generalist and can't imagine doing anything else. I particularly enjoy the on-going relationships with my patients which has developed over time, both on an individual and a family level, as I consider continuity to be key in helping patients navigate any health related issues they may encounter in their lives.
I am also Chairman of East Sussex Local Medical Committee, representing local GP's and a member of the BMA's General Practitioners Committee, representing GP's in East & West Sussex.
BMBS (2008 Sussex) DRCOG, MRCGP.
I qualified from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2008 and undertook hospital jobs in Brighton and Worthing. I went on to undertake GP training in th Brighton and Mid Sussex areas and joined Manor Park as a partner in 2013.
Claire Burge is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who joined us in April 2019.
She is a highly trained clinician who is able to see the majority of our patients for a full range of conditions. She is also able to prescribe, so is able to write a prescription if appropriate.
Claire is a fantastic asset and we are very lucky to have such a well qualified clinician join our team.
My first job was working at All Saints Hospital as an Occupational AIDE for 1 year, then started nursing auxilliary work on the wards for 1 year until I started my Psychiatric nurses training.
I studied at Hellingly hospital from 1977-1980. After qualification I staffed for eighteen months then went to Israel, to a kibbutz for 1 year.
I returned to do my RGN training at EDGH for eighteen months, and then staffed for years in medical then surgical wards.
In 1985 I had a family and returned in 1997 to work as a community nurse in the district nursing team.
I joined Manor Park Medical Centre as a Practice Nurse in 2011 and have a particular interest in special diabetes and ears.
I worked in the District Nursing Team before starting to work at Manor Park as a Practice Nurse in 2019.
I continue to study in all areas and love the variety and different skills this job demands.
Martin is a Paramedic Practitioner who has joined our team to assist GP appointment demand. He is able to see the majority of non critical patients ailments and it is strongly suggested you accept an appointment with him to reduce your wait to see a GP. He is a fantastic addition to our team.
Mell is a highly trained Level 3 HCA and has joined our team from Downlands Medical Centre.
I joined GP Practice Management in 2011 from a background of 25 years in banking. This experience is used in the day to day management of the Practice and is a busy, challenging, enjoyable role.
Shirley is our Reception Manager and joined the team in 2018. She is responsible for the smooth running of the administration team and will assist Patients in their day to day requests. Shirley will also be the first contact for any feedback or concerns a patient would wish to make.
We have a number of receptionists working hard to ensure that all patient requests are carried out and processed through the system. The role has developed over the last few years to become more complicated and demanding, so the training and abilities of the staff have increased to reflect the changing demands of the NHS.
